The Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Capacity Development, in conjunction with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has set out a three-stream pilot scheme for Nasarawa State.
The Capacity Development Training Initiative will deliver training in agriculture, digital skills and business development to 1,500 residents of Nasarawa State, drawn from all thirteen Local Government Areas.
Delivery runs over ten days: one guided week online on the programme platform, two days of physical training at a single centre in Lafia, and a closing day of assessment, awards and graduation.
The ten days
- Enrolment opens on 4 September 2026, ten days before the physical training
- 7 to 13 September: the guided week online
- 14 and 15 September: two days at the centre in Lafia
- 16 September: pitch, awards, certificates and graduation
What the scheme provides
- 700 places in Agriculture Skills
- 400 places in Digital Skills, with one workstation per participant at the centre
- 400 places in Business Development
- Producer clusters equipped with shared solar irrigation capacity
- A digital training laboratory retained in the zone
The training venue will be announced. Not less than 50 per cent of participants in each stream shall be women, youth and persons living with disabilities.
