How nomination works, and what a nominating authority must do

Issued by Programme Office

Nominations are received through Local Government Areas, traditional institutions, cooperatives and relevant MDAs. Each nominee is verified against the National Identification Number.

A nominee completes the application themselves. The nominating authority named on the form then receives an email containing a single-use link and countersigns the nomination electronically.

The steps

  • The nominee completes the form, choosing one track
  • The nominating authority receives a countersignature request by email
  • The authority approves or declines, and may attach a scan of the official stamp
  • The nomination enters NIN verification
  • Verified nominees are screened, shortlisted and assigned to a cohort

A nominee may hold a place in one stream only, so that the 1,500 participants are 1,500 distinct individuals. National Identification Number verification is used to enforce this.
